In the past it'd been the responsibility of amateur lip readers to identify what was being yelled in and around the diamond, but not this year at the College World Series.
From game to game, anyone watching the 2023 showdowns in Omaha have been getting basically a live feed of umpire calls with what one might argue is too much information. In most cases, it's all fun and games and gets tuned out.
But what happens when those mics work their ways into the dugout during celebrations? Hilarity ensues, and possibly some FCC warning letters.
That was the case in the top of the 9th inning from the LSU dugout as the Tigers celebrated a two-run blast from Dylan Crews that put the cherry on top of a 5-0 victory to both end Tennessee's season and extend their own.

Crews was depositing his batting gear on the bench as fellow LSU superstar Paul Skenes charged over and shouted: "You got me in trouble you son of a b****." What he was yelling about, we may never know, and he smiled and offered a high five as he said it, indicating it was all in jest.
LSU's players aren't mad at each other, anything from it after a thrilling victory to secure at least one more game in Omaha. But someone will certainly get angry if ESPN keeps beaming out expletives to a national audience. Maybe it's time to crank the mics down a tad? Just a thought.
Play ball.
