As LSU prepares to introduce its next head football coach Brian Kelly tomorrow, reports are beginning to surface about just who might populate Kelly’s staff… and how much turnover Tiger fans can expect from the current coaching roster.

A pair of reports today, by Gary Hamilton of On3Sports and Brody Miller of The Athletic, suggest at least two popular mainstays will remain in Baton Rouge: recruiting coordinator/cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond and running backs coach Kevin Faulk.

Raymond has been a key reason why LSU has held the nickname “DBU” for years. He’s helped produce seven first-team All-Americans from the Tiger secondary, including NFL first-round picks Jamal Adams, Eric Reid and Tre’Davious White.

Raymond also has important ties to the fertile New Orleans high school recruiting ground, a hotbed for future stars and a key area for LSU’s talent pool.

As for Faulk, he is the all-time leading rusher for the Purple and Gold and can boast three Super Bowl rings from his time as the main ball-carrier for the NFL’s New England Patriots in the early 2000s.

Faulk is entering his second season as the team’s running backs coach after serving as LSU’s director of player development in 2018 and 2019.
