The NBA Finals are just about wrapping up, but the New Orleans Pelicans are already getting set for their 2024-'25 slate.
The Pelicans' four-game preseason slate was announced on Thursday by the NBA. Here's what to know:
- Monday, Oct. 7: vs Orlando Magic (12:30 p.m.), Smoothie King Center
- Friday, Oct. 11: at Orlando Magic (6 p.m.), Kia Center
- Sunday, Oct. 13: at Miami Heat (2:30 p.m.), Kaseya Center
- Tuesday, Oct. 15: at Houston Rockets (7 p.m.), Toyota Center
Broadcast information for the games will be announced at a later date.
Those games will be the start of what fans hope will be a continued upward climb for a team that won 49 games a year ago, the second most in franchise history, but had to battle through the play-in tournament and was swept in the first round by the Oklahoma City Thunder with Zion Williamson sidelined due to injury.
The other big questions remaining will be whom the Pelicans add in the draft on June 26, in which they hold the No. 21 overall selection but have ammunition to trade up, as well as the future of Brandon Ingram and some other key players who could be offered extensions or appear in trade packages.
