The pick is in at No. 8, and the Pelicans didn't mine the NCAA ranks at all.
The next lottery pick headed to New Orleans is Dyson Daniels, who spent the 2021 season playing for the G-League Ignite, where he averaged 12 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and two steals per game.

"Super excited to get drafted by New Orleans," Daniels said in a message to fans after his pick. "I can't wait to get down there, meet the fans, meet the guys meet the staff. I can't wait to contribute and go deep in the playoffs next year."
Daniels is a 6-8 wing with a 6-11 wingspan and elite potential defensive characteristics who could pair well with Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III, the top two selections for New Orleans in last year's draft. New Orleans also holds the No. 41 and 52 selections.
