Louisiana's high school playoff brackets will not be released on Sunday as originally planned.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association says it will delay its bracket release because of ongoing litigation with a member school. The LHSAA did not say which school is involved in the legal fight or what precipitated that battle.

However, an LHSAA ruling issued last week forced Baton Rouge's University High to forfeit seven of its wins, reportedly because the school played at least one ineligible student-athlete in those games. Per its policy, the LHSAA does not disclose sanctions to the media.

According to documents sent to LHSAA member schools, University High in Baton Rouge is seeking a restraining order to prevent the Louisiana High School Athletic Association from enforcing penalties against the school for allegedly playing ineligible student-athletes in multiple games. Last week, the LHSAA ordered those forfeits, leaving U-High with what's now a 2-8 record and out of the playoffs.

According to the LHSAA documents, the organization granted U-High an expedited appeal on Thursday. The committee that heard the appeal voted unanimously to uphold the LHSAA's discipline. U-High filed its petition seeking a restraining order on Friday.
