Alvin Kamara wouldn't toot his own horn after an impassioned speech about "getting back to their swagger" that clearly struck a chord with his teammates heading into a pivotal Week 8 game.
He also refused to do it for himself even after a three-touchdown day that spurred a 24-0 beatdown of the Las Vegas Raiders at the Caesars Superdome.
Why? Well, if it doesn't keep happening, a get-right game won't much matter.
"Swag ain't sh** if it's not consistent," Kamara said.

"You could do it one time, but you got to be able to string it together. So I mean, we looking for the same type of preparation this week," he continued. "I know I am. I'm ready. I'm ready to go. I'm ready for next time. ... I expect to win every week."
But if you believed the rumor mill heading into this one, there was an idea that Kamara's 158-yard all-around dominating performance might be his last in a Saints uniform. Now, that was all conjecture, but Kamara admitted he was aware of it, even if he doesn't really care.
It's hard to avoid. He's had family members and friends let him know about it. But he responded to it simply after helping push the Saints to 3-5. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 1.
"I'm not really interested in playing anywhere else," Kamara said.
He can rest assured, after a performance and victory like what the Saints experienced in Week 8, it's unlikely anyone within the building wants to see Kamara playing anywhere else either.
