Latavius Murray finally got back on the field with the Saints, and he showed out. Unfortunately it was a short-lived return.
The Denver Broncos have signed the veteran running back off the Saints' practice squad, according to a report from Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network.
The Broncos were suddenly in need of running back depth after an injury to starter Javonte Williams this week. Murray will now join a running back room featuring Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone, with Russell Wilson at quarterback.

The poaching maneuver might surprise some Saints fans, who likely expected to see a lot more of Murray after he ran for a team high 57 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in a Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London. But Murray was one of the Saints' two practice squad elevations for the game, and despite playing in the game he was not on a full deal.
It's unknown whether the Saints would've looked to sign Murray to the active roster going forward, but it's a loss nonetheless. Alvin Kamara is still working through a rib injury and Tony Jones Jr. has been a healthy scratch the past two weeks. Mark Ingram has picked up much of the slack in Kamara's absence.
The Saints match up next with the Seahawks at the Caesars Superdome in Week 5.
