Let's all say it together: Finally! Saints linebacker Demario Davis, in his 11th pro season, has finally landed in the Pro Bowl.

He's the Saints' lone representative in the NFL's annual showcase game. Safety Tyrann Mathieu, long snapper Zach Wood and fullback Adam Prentice were selected as alternates, according to a report from NewOrleans.football.

The selection is one of the few accolades that has eluded Davis in his impressive career, the last five of which has been spent with the Saints. He's been named second team all-pro each of the past two seasons, and was named first-team all-pro in the 2019 season.

One thing that might've helped Davis get over the hump this season is his diversified impact on the stat sheet. He leads the Saints in tackles with 89 (47 solo), and also leads the team with 6.5 sacks, already a career high. He also nabbed an interception off Tom Brady in Week 13.

Davis, 33, was a third-round pick out of Arkansas State by the New York Jets in the 2012 NFL draft.

The Saints head out to Cleveland in Week 16 with slim hopes still alive to reach the postseason.
