The Saints are still collecting information surrounding the arrest of Alvin Kamara over the weekend, and neither new head coach Dennis Allen nor GM Mickey Loomis were ready to make any concrete statement as of Tuesday.

Loomis joined SportsTalk with Kristian Garic, Bobby Hebert and Mike Detillier following the introduction of Allen as the team's new head coach, and said the details are still emerging, though he conceded there's obvious concern regarding all the parties involved.

"First of all, we don’t know what the facts are. I know what you guys know, which is what we’ve read. ... I think, A: We’re concerned with the people involved, concerned with Alvin," Loomis said. "The facts will come out."

Allen had a similar statement when asked about his team's star running back in an introduction press conference held Tuesday afternoon.

"I think it's a situation where we're gathering some information," Allen said. "And I think it's really early for any sort of comment.”

The Saints GM and new head coach were speaking in reference to an incident that occurred prior to the Pro Bowl, which led to the arrest of the Saints running back after the game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Booking documents detailed an altercation that occurred outside a nightclub elevator in the early hours Saturday morning. A man said Kamara put his hands on him as the man attempted to enter an elevator with the group, with Kamara and the others ultimately attacking him and leading to "significant" injuries, as detailed by police. The report indicates that Kamara admitted during interviews to being involved in the altercation and throwing multiple blows, several of which occurred while the man was on the ground.

The man identified Kamara as one of the men when interviewed later that day at an area hospital, which led to the Saints RB's arrest. Police indicated video of the event corroborates the man's story, though it has not yet been made public due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. Kamara posted $5,000 bond with the next court update scheduled for March 8.

Irrespective of the legal outcome, Kamara will be subject to potential league discipline -- the first time in his 5-year career he'd have been subject to punishment under the league's conduct policy. One way or another, the Saints will be monitoring the situation closely as more details emerge.

"The legal process will run its course and the league will, they handle the discipline for that," he said. "But I don’t have much to comment on because I really don’t have all the facts.”
