Hebert: Spencer Rattler looked the part at Saints rookie minicamp

The New Orleans Saints have a lot of intriguing storylines going into the 2024 season, but likely none with more upside that 5th round QB Spencer Rattler.

He certainly looked the part in his first opportunity as the Saints took the field for rookie minicamp this week, which the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert broke down after practice.

"They were pretty efficient, he was getting them in and out of the huddle," Hebert said. "So that just shows you he has a command of the huddle, because they throw a lot at you in rookie camp, or even when the veterans come, you have OTAs and minicamp, so you have to be able to grasp it."

Also clear was the early connection he has with his fellow 5th round pick in WR Bub Means. The former Pitt Panther hooked up with the former South Carolina Gamecock several times, including a connection up the seam late in practice that Hebert called one of his plays of the day.

"You can see they have that connection already working," Hebert said.

A few others Hebert points to as having impressive moments at rookie camp: Roderic Teamer, S, Tulane; Jordan Mims a 2nd-year running back out of Fresno State; Rico Payton, CB, Pittsburgh State.
