Hebert: When it comes to Taysom Hill, 'more is more' for Saints offense

The New Orleans Saints have some decisions to make when it comes to how best to utilize Taysom Hill in Klint Kubiak's scheme.

Through the first pair of OTA practices open to the media, it's clear the plan is to get him on the field anywhere and everywhere, and that's A-OK with the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert.

“I’d always say less of Drew is more, even though Drew Brees is a Hall of Famer, you don’t want him throwing 45-50 times a game," Hebert said, breaking down Tuesday's action. "I think the approach with Taysom Hill, not less is more, more is more, we need more Taysom, because his age and all that, no, we’re using him."

Interestingly, which head coach Dennis Allen made clear last week, the only spot you won't see Taysom lining up at ahead of practice is at QB. Thus far he's gotten work with the fullbacks and tight ends and has lined up all across the formation. In an offense built to utilize do-it-all fullbacks, it makes all the more sense.

With more usage than ever before in pass-catching roles, Hill set new career highs in catches (33) and yards (291) in his Age 33 season. Hebert sees those marks rising again in 2024.

"You’re not saving nothing," Hebert said. "So I think that when you get a look at how the approach they’re gonna take, the gameplan, yea, that he’ll be interesting."
