The New Orleans Saints released their first injury report of the 2021 season, and the lone player named on it could be a factor in some of the team's recent moves.

That player is cornerback Ken Crawley, who did not participate and was listed with a hamstring injury. The veteran has been out of practice since he was hurt during the Saints' preseason win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It'd be a tough break for Crawley if he's unable to get on the field for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers after appearing to take control of the job with strong play throughout camp. Despite that Sean Payton continued to refer to the position as a "must," and two familiar names were brought in the last two days.

The first was veteran and former Falcons corner Desmond Trufant, whose signing was announced Tuesday along with the release of running back Latavius Murray. The Saints have also reported agreed to a trade for Bradley Roby of the Houston Texans.

Details of the transaction have still not been announced, but Roby will not be available until Week 2 due to a suspension handed down midway through last season.

One name left off the injury report that could be viewed as a positive sign: Adam Trautman. The second-year player suffered a foot/ankle injury against the Jaguars, but an MRI indicated he escaped major damage.

Other names that might've otherwise appeared on the injury report were sent to injured reserve earlier in the week, including tight end Nick Vannett and kicker Wil Lutz. Michael Thomas is also on the PUP list and won't be able to return for six weeks. Players on IR can return as early as Week 4.

The Packers listed outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith, defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster and safety Vernon Scott their initial injury report.
