Louisiana snowstorm forces Saints to reschedule head coach interviews

The New Orleans Saints had grand plans to kick off in-person interviews for their head coaching vacancy this week. The Louisiana weather had other ideas.

The Saints have called off and rescheduled multiple interviews amid a storm set to drop multiple inches of snow in below freezing temperatures across the region. Most city services have been shut down as a result.

The team had originally scheduled an in-person interview with Giants OC Mike Kafka for Tuesday as well as Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver for Wednesday. Both have been rescheduled to later in the week, according to reports. Lions DC Aaron Glenn was also scheduled for an interview, but the Jets are reportedly making a push to close a deal during their interview with him on Tuesday.

The Saints are also working to schedule an interview with former Cowboys DC Mike McCarthy, who was a top name for the Bears opening that has officially been taken by Lions OC Ben Johnson.

It's unclear how the timeline could impact the Saints' process, but they'll have no choice but to wait things out. The Saints have also shown interest and had virtual interviews with Eagles OC Kellen Moore and Bills OC Joe Brady, but neither can conduct in-person interviews until after the conference championship games. The Saints have also put in a request to interview Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, who has indicated he will not purse head coach opportunities until the completion of Washington's season.
