Anyone who wants to bet on the over for the New Orleans Saints' win total for the 2023 season will have to count themselves among the extra optimistic.
Over/under odds on win totals for all 32 NFL teams have been announced by DraftKings, with the Saints sitting at 9.5, a swift climb from the 7.5 from a season ago. The team flirted with that number all season, but ultimately hit the under with an ugly loss to the Panthers in Week 18.
This time around it's clear the addition of Derek Carr has helped spur that total up, reaching a number that could be difficult to pull the trigger on. If all goes right, 10-plus wins is certainly possible and maybe even a likely scenario. But what if it doesn't? Nine wins, which might be enough to win the NFC South, wouldn't get it done.
The Falcons and Panthers both come in at 7.5, with the Bucs landing at 6.5
Here are the win total over/unders for all 32 teams, broken up by conference:
NFC
- San Franciso 49ers: 11.5
- Philadelphia Eagles: 10.5
- NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: 9.5
- Detroit Lions: 9.5
- New York Giants: 8.5
- Seattle Seahawks: 8.5
- Minnesota Vikings: 8.5
- Carolina Panthers: 7.5

- L.A. Rams: 7.5
- Chicago Bears: 7.5
- Green Bay Packers: 7.5
- Washington Commanders: 7.5
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 6.5
- Arizona Cardinals: 5.5
AFC
- Kansas City Chiefs: 11.5
- Cincinnati Bengals: 11.5
- Buffalo Bills: 10.5
- Jacksonville Jaguars: 10.5
- Miami Dolphins: 9.5
- L.A Chargers: 9.5
- New York Jets: 9.5
- Cleveland Browns: 9.5
- Baltimore Ravens: 8.5
- Denver Broncos: 8.5
- Pittsburgh Steelers: 8.5
- Tennessee Titans: 7.5

- Houston Texans: 5.5
For perspective on where the Saints sit in the NFC, their betting line is just one game beneath the Eagles, who went 14-3, won the conference and lost a close Super Bowl to the Chiefs. The 49ers are the only team higher, with a line of 11.5. There are eight NFC teams with a line of 7.5 or lower.
That contrasts greatly with the AFC, where so many of the current top quarterbacks reside -- a number expected to climb when a seemingly inevitable trade of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets goes through. Eight teams in the AFC have projections of 9.5 or higher, led by the Chiefs and Bengals at 11.5, which is the highest for any team.
The Denver Broncos, with new head coach Sean Payton and a staff made up of a variety of former Saints assistants, is projected at 8.5 for Year 1 of his new regime. One theme is clear: If you have an established QB, you probably have a higher win total projection. It's likely some of these figures changes as the season progresses, with both the draft looming and more potential trades possible. Figures could also differ between sportsbooks.
So, the question is: Over or Under 9.5 wins for Year 2 of the Dennis Allen era, and Year 1 of the Derek Carr era. What side you on?
