Adversity keeps stacking itself up against the Saints. The team is still in Texas practicing post Hurricane Ida and were dealt another “situation” when 8 people on the team found out they have COVID-19.
“There's a group of offensive coaches, along with our nutritionist and one player that have tested positive. And, all are vaccinated,” said head coach Sean Payton.
“They're going to need two negative tests, essentially, before they can be back in the building and working. We don't know the timing or the time frame on that, but they're all offensive coaches.”
Instead of position groups meeting individually, Coach Payton says things will need to be condensed a bit.
“We meet today for instance; in bigger groups, spread out. But, we're meeting with the receivers and the running backs and the quarterback as opposed to breaking out into those subgroups, just kind of covering the information,” explained Payton.
The 1-0 Saints have a true road game this Sunday with they play in Charlotte, North Carolina against the 1-0 Panthers. New Orleans is a 3-point road favorite.
