Ready for Week 9? Setting up Saints-Falcons, LSU-Alabama with Audacy insider Mark Herzlich

It's as busy a weekend of football as we've seen all season, with premiere matchups on tap for LSU and the Saints.

The Saints host the Falcons in an NFC South showdown and the Tigers travel to face the massive favorite Alabama Crimson Tide, along with big showdowns on Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, all of which can be streamed live on WWL AM-870 and FM-105.3.

But what should we expect from those matchups in Week 9 of the NFL season? Audacy NFL Insider Mark Herzlich, a college teammate of Falcons QB Matt Ryan's, joins WWL Digital Producer Jeff Nowak for this week's fall football preview, sponsored by the Louisiana Office of Tourism.

━━━━

LSU Alabama

LSU (4-4, 2-3 SEC) at No. 3 Alabama (7-1, 4-1 SEC)
- WHEN: 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6
- WHERE: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
- TV: ESPN
- LISTEN: WWL AM-870, FM-105.3

HERZLICH'S TAKE: "I think it's going to be a really good game for the first quarter, maybe 20 minutes. Because LSU, they've got a lot of pride to them. They've got really good players. And so there will be big plays made by LSU. I'm sure there will be a steady, consistent push by Alabama. But I think there'll be a certain point where there's a straw that breaks the camel's back at some point in the second quarter, where Alabama's dominance and maturity kind of takes over."

━━━━

Saints Falcons

FALCONS (3-4) at SAINTS (5-2)
- WHEN: Noon, Sunday, Nov. 7
- WHERE: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
- TV: FOX
- LISTEN: WWL AM-870, FM-105.3

HERZLICH'S TAKE: "Both teams are coming off completely different games ... it seems like they're two teams kinda going in opposite directions. So really if the Falcons have a chance, their offensive line has gotta play better. ... It's going to be an interesting game to watch. I think the big men up front are going to determine the game."

━━━━

Titans at Rams

TITANS (6-2) at RAMS (7-1
- WHEN: 7:15 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 7
- WHERE: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California
- TV: NBC
- LISTEN: WWL AM-870, FM-105.3

HERZLICH'S TAKE: "Gosh, man. It's one thing to lose a star player, and there's another thing to lose Derrick Henry. He's not just a star player, he's a once-in-a-generation player. And so you bring another once-in-a-generation player with Adrian Peterson, just you don't know if his generation is still going on right now. ... It's not going to be a one-horse show. It's going to have to be a bunch of guys trying to fill a role, and then it's going to be a lot on Ryan Tannehill."

━━━━

Bears at Steelers

BEARS (3-4) at STEELERS (4-3)
- WHEN: 7:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8
- WHERE: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- TV: ESPN
- LISTEN: WWL AM-870, FM-105.3

HERZLICH'S TAKE: "I don't see either of them going very far anywhere this year. But it's an interesting deal. ... [The Steelers] have got stuff going for them. But you just get the feeling Big Ben [Roethlisberger] is on his last leg, maybe he was on his last leg last year. ... You just, you don't know what you're going to get every time Pitt goes out, basically."
