The New Orleans picked up their fifth win of the season after earning a 26-23 win against the Bears in overtime.
Saints kicker Wil Lutz hit a 35-yard field goal to give the Saints the overtime victory.
Wil Lutz capped the game’s opening drive with a 38-yard field goal.
The Bears answered on their following drive with a 44-yard field goal from Cairo Santos.
The Bears took a 10-3 lead when Nick Foles capped a four-play, 80-yard drive with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Allen Robinson II. That score was set up by a 50-yard completion to former Tulane standout Darnell Mooney.
The Saints cut into the lead just before halftime when Drew Brees connected Jared Cook for a 16-yard touchdown.
New Orleans tied the game 13-13 in the third quarter with his second field goal, this one from 27 yards out.
On the Bears’ ensuing drive, Chicago receiver was Javon Wims was ejected after punching Saints defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson several times, seemingly unprovoked.
Marshon Lattimore picked up his first interception of the season on the very next play and set up a 39-yard Wil Lutz field goal which gave the Saints a 16-13 lead.
The Saints stretched that lead in the fourth quarter when when Brees found Taysom Hill in the middle of the field for a 20-yard touchdown pass. The score was Brees’ second touchdown of the day and gave the Saints a 23-13 lead.
The Bears were able to come back and tie the game following a 3-yard touchdown pass from Foles to Mooney and a 51-yard Santos field goal with just 13 seconds to play.
