The Week 4 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans was postponed Thursday after an additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19.
Seeing the game be postponed served as a reminder to the Saints to continue to strictly following COVID-19 protocols
“Anytime that happens around the league your going to take notice and maybe be a little bit more carefu;,” Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone said.
Saints coach Sean Payton added that despite the extra precautions positive COVID-19 tests are “inevitable.”
“You’re just hoping to keep it to a minimum,” he said.
Payton said he thinks the Saints have done a good job, so far, with limit infections from the virus.
“Our numbers are good, all the information we get back from the medical experts is good,” he said.
Saints receiver Tre’Quan Smith saying he felt his teammates were doing well with regards to following the protocols established to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
“We are very in tune about doing our job and making sure we are doing the protocol to make sure everybody stays safe,” Smith said. “So we try to limit those interactions between players and stuff like that and make sure that when we are outside of the building that we do take the right protocols to to limit our chances of getting cover.”
So far the Saints have had only player, running back Dwayne Washington. land on the NFL’s reserve/COVID list for an extended period of time.
