The New Orleans Saints continued to bulk up their defensive line on Friday, nabbing defensive end Isaiah Foskey out of Notre Dame at No. 40.

The standout pass-rusher holds the Notre Dame record for sacks with 26.5. He was also in attendance at the 2023 Senior Bowl, a common proving ground for Saints draft picks. LSU defensive end BJ Ojulari went one pick later to the Cardinals, with both players coached by Brian Kelly.

Foskey appeared in 12 games of his senior season, logging 45 tackles, 11 sacks and a forced fumble. In his 4-year career with the Fighting Irish he logged 122 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and 7 forced fumbles.

The Saints had a quick turnaround between picks, but still stayed away from any deals after picking Clemson DT Bryan Bresee at No. 29 overall.

The start of the second round was highlighted by the Titans trading up to select Kentucky quarterback Will Levis after he slid out of the first round. TEs Michael Mayer and Sam Laporta were also quick off the board, along with CB Joey Porter Jr.

New Orleans will be back on the clock at No. 71, barring any other moves up the board. The Saints also own picks 114, 146, 165, 227 and 257.
