The Saints' injury woes have not lessened throughout the Week.
After impressive performances in Week 1 that were marred by injuries, both linebacker Kwon Alexander (elbow) and Marcus Davenport (shoulder) have both been sent to injured reserve, the team announced Friday afternoon.
Fullback Alex Armah was signed to the active roster and linebacker Wynton McManis was signed back to the Saints' practice squad.
That means the pair will not be eligible to return until Week 5 at the earliest. They'll join K Wil Lutz, CB Ken Crawley, TE Nick Vannett and WR Tre'Quan Smith on IR, all of whom were sent before Week 1 and won't be eligible to return until Week 4.
Wide receiver Michael Thomas began the season on the PUP list, and can't return until Week 7. DT David Onyemata is suspended and will be out until Week 8.
Three other players, including starting center Erik McCoy were listed as out for the Panthers matchup, meaning Cesar Ruiz will likely take on center duties.
Defensive backs Marshon Lattimore and PJ Williams got limited work in for the second consecutive day and are listed as questionable for Sunday.
The injury report has been a lengthy one each day for the Saints, with at least seven players missing practice each of Wednesday and Thursday.
Here's how the injury report has broken down each day heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Panthers:
Wednesday/Thursday/Friday (game day injury designation)
- LB Kwon Alexander (elbow): DNP/DNP/DNP (out)
- C/G Erik McCoy (calf): DNP/DNP/DNP (out)
- LB Chase Hansen (groin): LP/DNP/DNP (out)
- LB: Pete Werner (hamstring): DNP/DNP/DNP (out)

The Panthers have remained remarkably consistent heading into the weekend's matchup, with no players absent from practice Wednesday through Friday and no injury designations to report.
