The New Orleans Saints' salary cap gymnastics continued this week, with the latest restructured deal coming in the form of Marshon Lattimore's 5th-year option.

The Saints cornerback's $10 million contract has been converted to a $990,000 base salary, with the remainder serving as a roster bonus to free up just over $9 million against this year's cap, according to a report from Ian Rapoport. The deal also includes voidable years while the team continues to negotiate an extension.

A good portion of that cap space was put to use in signing the 6-man rookie class, according to a report from Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football. estimated to cost about $6.4 million. That class includes EDGE rusher Payton Turner, linebacker Pete Werner, cornerback Paulson Adebo, quarterback Ian Book, offensive tackle Landon Young and wide receiver Kawaan Baker.

The Saints went into the day with roughly $348,000 available in cap space, according to the NFL Player's Association's calculations. The restructured deal for Lattimore also appears to free up just under $3 million in space for New Orleans for a potential free agent acquisition.

Sean Payton on Tuesday said the Saints had set up visits with multiple players, but declined to speculate on potential additions. One of this visits reported this week was in the form of former Bengals and Cardinals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.
