The New Orleans Saints' revolving door at running back continued this week with a handful of moves.

First it was practice squad running backs Derrick Gore and Jordan Howard being waived on Tuesday. Howard had been a gameday elevation each of the past two weeks but was lightly used and logged just one carry for 1 yard.

The Saints reportedly put in waiver claim for former Cardinals running back Eno Benjamin who was a surprise cut this week, but they were too far down on the waiver priority to bring him in. Benjamin, who logged 113 total yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 7 loss in Arizona, is now a member of the Houston Texans.

Ultimately the Saints turned to another former Cardinals and Texans running back in David Johnson, whom they signed to the practice squad heading into Week 11. He'll be a likely candidate for a gameday elevation with veteran Mark Ingram likely out as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

Johnson was in with the Saints for an extended workout in the offseason but left without a contract.

If Johnson is active for Week 11, he'll join a Saints running attack that was stifled for just 29 yards on 15 carries in a loss to the Steelers.

The Saints will have another practice squad spot to fill as well, with DE Taco Charlton reportedly signed by the Bears. That marks the third such signing of a Saints practice squad member (RB Latavius Murray, Broncos; LB Eric Wilson, Packers) this season.

The Saints host the L.A. Rams at the Caesars Superdome.
