The New Orleans Saints are in a largely unfamiliar spot as they head into Week 2: They're getting healthier.
Saints DE Payton Turner and reserve linebacker Ryan Connelly have both landed on injured reserve, but otherwise the only two absences from Thursday's practice -- the first day of the practice week ahead of Monday Night Football -- were a pair of veteran rest days.
See the full practice report from Thursday below.
DNP = did not participate; LP = limited participation; FP = full participation
- S J.T. Gray (shoulder): LP
- RB Kendre Miller (hamstring): LP
- RT Ryan Ramczyk (rest): LP
- TE Jimmy Graham (rest): LP
- TE Juwan Johnson (calf): LP
A pair of key players also got back on the field for the first time since the start of the regular season in RB Kendre Miller and J.T. Gray, both of whom were inactive for Week 1 after missing the entire week of practice. Both players were listed as limited. Juwan Johnson was also added to the injury report with a calf injury.
If Miller can make his return for Week 2, he'd be in line to make his rookie debut for a team that struggled to get traction in the run game for Week 1.
On the Panthers' side there is a similarly light injury report, but with one key player expected to miss significant time in CB Jaycee Horn.
- CB Jaycee Horn (hamstring): DNP
- WR D.J. Chark (hamstring): LP
- OT Taylor Moton (biceps): LP
