The New Orleans Saints' injury report isn't exceptionally long heading into Week 3, but it does include several key names.
The most interesting status to watch will be that of Taysom Hill, who did not participate in Wednesday's session due to a chest injury that occurred in the third quarter against the Cowboys. Hill was taken to an area hospital for additional testing, but head coach Dennis Allen said it's believed he avoided serious injury.
The head coach said on Wednesday that he was hopeful to see Hill get in limited work on Thursday, but we'll have to wait and see. In all there were nine players listed on the initial injury report.
Scroll below for the initial Saints injury report for Week 3.
DNP = did not participate; LP = limited participation; FP = full participation
- LB Jaylan Ford (hamstring): FP
- WR Rashid Shaheed (hip): FP
- CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring): LP
- OT Taliese Fuaga (back): LP
- S Tyrann Mathieu (heel): LP
- WR Cedrick Wilson (abdomen): LP
- LB D'Marco Jackson (calf): DNP
- DT Khalen Saunders (calf): DNP
- TE Taysom Hill (chest): DNP
- OT Landon Young (foot): DNP
Along with Hill there were three other players held out of practice entirely, two of which included a pair of players battling calf injuries in Jackson and Saunders who are yet to play or practice during the regular season. The only addition in that regard is swing tackle Landon Young who is dealing with a foot issue.
The most positive bit of news is a return to limited participation for Marshon Lattimore, whom Allen said wanted to play in Week 2 but was held out in an abundance of caution. Hamstring injuries can be finnicky, Allen said, and the goal was to make sure what the team believed to be a short-term injury didn't turn into a long-term injury. Getting back on the field early in the week is a positive sign that the Saints star CB could be back for the showdown with the Eagles.
Rookie LT Taliese Fuaga is another player who was limited due to the same back issue that impacted his participation ahead of Week 2, though he did play in the game despite missing Thursday and Friday practices.
Here's how things shape up on the Eagles' side of the equation, with the biggest storyline being the status of star WR A.J. Brown.
- WR A.J. Brown (hamstring): DNP
- WR Johnny Wilson (hamstring): DNP
