Saints Week 7 injury report, Tuesday: OL starter gets back to practice

The New Orleans Saints got one injured offensive lineman back to practice on Wednesday, but otherwise not much change as a banged-up squad prepares for Thursday Night Football.

G/C Lucas Patrick (chest) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday after missing on Monday. The Saints had a walkthrough for a second consecutive day, standard practice for teams preparing for a Thursday kickoff, so the injury report is estimated. Patrick did not play against the Bucs in Week 6.

The Saints injury report consists of 17 names, which equates to just over 32% of the 53-man roster. Every position group is represented.

Here's how the injury report stacked up on Tuesday
LP = limited participation; FP = full participation; DNP = did not participate

- RG Cesar Ruiz (knee): DNP | DNP
- QB Derek Carr (oblique): DNP | DNP
- C/G Lucas Patrick (chest): DNP | LP
- LB Pete Werner (hamstring): DNP | DNP
- WR Rashid Shaheed (knee): DNP | DNP
- WR Chris Olave (concussion): DNP | DNP
- TE Taysom Hill (rib): LP | LP
- DE Payton Turner (knee): LP | LP
- RB Alvin Kamara (hand): LP | LP
- DE Carl Granderson (neck): LP | FP
- DT Nathan Shepherd (groin): LP | LP
- S J.T. Gray (calf): LP | LP
- CB Alontae Taylor (shoulder): LP | LP
- WR Cedrick Wilson (ankle): LP | LP
- S Tyrann Mathieu (forearm): FP | FP
- LB Willie Gay Jr. (hand): FP | FP
- WR Bub Means (hand): FP | FP

TE Taysom Hill (rib) was not seen during the portion of practice open to the media but he was listed as limited for a second consecutive day, leaving the door open for a return and his first game action since leaving early in Week 4 against the Falcons. His return would be a great help to an offense that is trending to be without its top two receivers in Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee), neither of whom have gotten on the practice squad this week.

The only other change for the Saints on Tuesday was DE Carl Granderson (neck) being upgraded to a full participant. The Saints have one more day of practice, after which they'll have to announce gameday designations for anyone ruled out or listed as questionabe/doubtful.

Denver's side of the injury report got a bit longer with a pair of names added.

Here's how the Broncos' side of things broke down:
- CB Pat Surtain (concussion): DNP | DNP
- CB Ja'Quan McMillan (ankle): LP | FP
- CB Riley Moss (hip): LP | FP
- OT Alex Palczewski (ankle): LP | LP
- CB Damarri Mathis (ankle): FP | FP
- LB Justin Strnad (ribs): FP | FP
- LB Baron Browning (foot): n/a | LP
- OT Mike McGlinchey (knee): n/a | LP

The Saints (2-4) host Sean Payton and the Broncos (3-3) at 7:15 p.m. Thursday inside the Caesars Superdome. Catch all the action on WWL and Audacy.
