Kenner police arrested a woman they say stabbed her boyfriend to death at an AirBnB rented to celebrate her birthday.
Police say 19-year old Akailah Hicks faces second degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Keenan Dyas.
According to authorities, Hicks called police Monday morning and told them she answered a knock at the door to find Dyas, suffering from a stab wound. She said he collapsed and she called for help.
Detectives, however, said the stab wound Dyas received would have killed him too quickly for him to have had time to knock on the door and wait for an answer before collapsing.
"He would have to have been stabbed right there," Kenner Police Deputy Chief Mark McCormick told NOLA.com. "There was no blood located anywhere else, not in his vehicle, not out front. The only blood was located within the backyard."
Cops booked Hicks for second-degree murder, obstruction of justice, and marijuana possession.
