There are a dozen parades planned in Metairie during the 2023 Mardi Gras season.

Jefferson Parish's Fat Tuesday processions will start later than usual this year.

The 50th anniversary Argus procession will begin at noon on Mardi Gras day.  It has traditionally hit the streets at 10:00am.  The truck parades will follow Argus.

Meanwhile, the Carnival Festival known as Family Gras will be two days instead of three days for 2023.

It takes place in Mardi Gras Plaza at Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Causeway Boulevard, across from Lakeside Shopping Center

Organizers say, "With past performers like The Beach Boys, Brett Eldredge, Cyndi Lauper, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Marshall Tucker Band, Fifth Harmony, Tony Orlando, the Pointer Sisters, Blood Sweat & Tears, Zac Brown Band, The Monkees, Leann Rimes, Becky G., Jesse McCartney and so many more, Family Gras offers a huge variety of talent so the entire family can enjoy!"

This year's lineup announcement is expected soon.
