Animal remains scraped from Lower Garden District street "most likely a cow"

New Orleans first responders and hazardous material cleanup crews responded to massive mess on Religious and Celeste streets in the Irish Channel Thursday afternoon.

City leaders said it appeared to be a pile of animal remains scattered across the street.

Cleanup crews had it clear by early afternoon.

Audubon Zoo officials were brought in to inspect the remains. Officials say they determine it to "a terrestrial mammal, most likely a cow.
