Mississippi is suing retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre and three former pro wrestlers along with several other people and businesses to try to recover millions of allegedly misspent welfare dollars that were intended to help some of the poorest people in the U.S. The lawsuit claims the defendants "squandered" more than $20 million in money from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families anti-poverty program.
A new record in the U.S. art world. Christie’s says Andy Warhol's iconic 1964 portrait of actress Marilyn Monroe has sold for $195 million. The Monroe portrait also became the second-most expensive auctioned piece of art, trailing only Leonardo da Vinci’s "Salvator Mundi," which sold for $450 million in 2017.
