New Orleans officials are warning bars they could face permanent closure.

Deputy CAO Peter Bowen called out "businesses who continue to break every guideline put in place by this administration to protect our residents."

He says they are directly responsible for the deaths of New Orleanians.

"The time for warnings is over.  If you are caught out of compliance, you will be shut down on the spot."

Bowen listed a series of ways that some bars are breaking the rules.

"We see your back door entrances; allowing enormous indoor, maskless gatherings," he insisted. "We see your attempts to hide that fact that you are open and operating after eleven p.m.  We see your social media accounts luring college students into your death traps."

He told offending establishments that their selfishness threatens the delicate hospitality industry.

"This city is not interested in doing business with anyone who would knowingly break the law and threaten the safety of our residents."
