Major announcements from Orleans Parish Sanitation Commissioner Matt Torri in his address before the City Council this morning.
Contracts with IV Waste and Waste Pro serving Area 2 and Area 3 will go into effect on November 7th.
The two companies will provide trash service just one day a week.
But the good news is curb side recycling is going back into effect on day one of the new contract, November 7th. With the one day pickups resident can put their normal garbage out and their recycling on the same day.
If residents need an extra can, they can now request one from the city at no charge.
