Closing arguments begin in the federal tax fraud trial of New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams and his law partner Nicole Burdett today.

Williams and Burdett could face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.  If convicted, Williams will lose his post as DA and be stripped of his law license.

"Henry Timothy is your go-to guy if you want to cheat on your taxes. That's why they went over the bridge to Timothy's house. He was their go-to guy, their yes man. He was going to do what they asked him to do,” U.S. Attorney Kelly Uebinger told the jury regarding Williams’ tax preparer as reported by WWLTV’s Erika Ferrando from the courtroom.

“Henry Timothy, Jason Williams, Mrs. Burdett, they are all partners in crime. They are working together to commit tax fraud. There should be no doubt about that,” said Uebinger.
