
UPDATE: Police say, "Please be advised Jayceon Comeaux has been recovered and is safe."
NOPD is looking for a little boy they say was abducted.
"New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with locating a kidnapped juvenile," according to a news release. "Kidnapped is Jayceon Comeaux (pictured), Black male, age 7, height 4' 5", and weight 80 pounds. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black shoes, and was barefoot."
Detectives say Comeaux was taken from his home.
"According to investigators, around 7:00 p.m. today (07/06/25) Jayceon Comeaux was at home in uptown New Orleans when Jacob Tassara (Black male, DOB 01/19/1994) illegally entered the residence. Jacob Tassara committed a battery against the child's mother and took Jayceon Comeaux out of the residence."
Police say Tassara fled in a black Ford Escape, with Comeaux.
The news release did not indicate if or how Tassara and Comeaux are connected.
"Anyone with information regarding the crimes or the location of Jacob Tassara or Comeaux is asked to call Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111."
