Right-wing commentator and a reigning Miss Alabama, Zoe Sozo Bethel has died of injuries suffered during what was initially an undisclosed accident, according to social media post made by her family.
“On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries,” read the post on Bethel’s Instagram account.
Bethel, 27, wore many hats, working as a political commentator for RSBN, a spokeswoman for Students for Life, a brand ambassador for Turning Point USA and Liberty University’s Falkirk Center, and was the reigning Miss Alabama for America Strong 2021.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the undisclosed accident that killed Bethel was a fall from the third floor of a Miami condo on February 10 that was initially investigated as a suicide before being labeled “accidental” by a medical examiner 11 days later.
Bethel never woke up from the coma brought by the fall, which caused extensive brain damage.
“Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left,” Bethel's family said upon initially announcing the accident on social media. “We are praying for God's will to be done, regardless of what that may look like.”
“This has been an abrupt & very traumatizing situation for our family, & we can imagine how much of a shock this will also be to everyone who knows & cares for her,” the post continued.
Supporters of Bethel have been encouraged by the family to visit their GoFundMe page to contribute towards medical and funeral costs. She leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter.
