“Doomsday” in Southeast Louisiana: What does that look like?

WWL-Radio along with its corporate parent company, Audacy, has partnered with FEMA to design an emergency broadcast studio that can sustain multiple natural and manmade disasters.

It’s supposed to provide WWL-Radio the capability to broadcast up to 60 days after an event that would knock out electricity, internet or even access to food or water. In plain language, that sounds like a doomsday scenario.

While most of Tuesday’s event introducing and unveiling the studio focused on its capabilities, it made me curious about what conditions would look outside of that studio.

I put that question to some of the people responsible for overseeing emergency response in their respective parishes and on the national level. Take a listen above to some of their nightmare scenarios.
