The widow of late former Governor Edwin Edwards defends her selfie pic after a social media user bashed the picture and questioned its appropriateness.
The photography shows Trina Scott Edwards posing with another woman in what appears to be a selfie taken inside a bathroom.
The image was reposted by another social media user with the caption, “Poor EWE his ‘grieving’ widow is out partying taking bathroom selfies…wow keep it classy TE.”
Trina reposted the image with a lengthy caption defending herself and the reason the image was posted to social media.
Trina Scott Edwards said:
I cropped the name because as generous as I am, I’m not going to help them get likes or followers. I would like to say that my husband died, I did not. I’m allowed to continue living and I am going to. It doesn’t mean that I am not sad or that I am not grieving the loss of my husband. It means that I am grateful for the time we had together and I am looking forward to whatever blessings are coming my way during this next chapter of my life! I trust it’s going to be amazing. You can expect me to “keep it classy” this week with lots of bathroom selfies because I am beautiful and the world deserves to see me! Let’s all say a prayer for this poor soul who must never have known and experienced the happiness I have so they dedicate their precious time to trying to tear me and others down. I will choose to continue to build others up. EWE lived his best life and we should all do the same. Feel free to drop me a bathroom selfie, you beautiful, beautiful humans.
Edwards’s post drew over 900 reactions and more than 570 comments, most of which showed support for Trina and encouraged her to 'live her life'. It is not clear who posted the selfie picture with the caption bashing the widow.
