Gas prices in NOLA hit new record high two days in a row

There seems to be no end to the rising gas price at the pump in the New Orleans area.

The price for a gallon of gas in New Orleans has set yet another record high. According to AAA gas price data, gas prices set a new average high of $4.22 a gallon, which is up four cents compared to yesterday’s $4.18.

For comparison, a gallon of gas just a week ago was at an average high of $4.06 for a gallon of regular-grade gas, and $2.70 one year ago.

The price of gas climbs slightly moving between the different grades of octane. The average for one gallon of mid-grade gas in the metro area is currently $4.56, which is up two cents from yesterday’s $4.54, while Premium gas sits at $4.86 on average per gallon.

In Louisiana, the average price of gas is $4.22 and the national average is $4.56 according to AAA gas price data.
