The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has confirmed 11 additional Hurricane Ida-related deaths, bringing the state's total to 26.
The deaths occurred between August 30 and September 6.
Nine of the victims were individuals more than 60 years old who died of heat-related causes during the extended electrical power outage. Two deaths, a 24-year-old man and 44-year-old man, were attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
