The weekend weather starts off warm, with highs in the 70s on Saturday afternoon. But that won't last, as we hear from WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin.
"As we have a mild day today and for tomorrow, you still do have time to prepare," said Franklin.
"Temperatures start coming down late Saturday. By Sunday morning we're in the 30s and highs only staying in the 40s, but that's mild compared to what is on the way," he said.
Monday morning will have lows in the 20s, with highs only in the 30s.
Tuesday now has a higher likelihood of winter weather, including snow.
"Models have been trending for snow and some freezing rain, sleet mixed in there," Chris said.
Another freeze Tuesday night into Wednesday morning could freeze elevated roadways.
