Today, the Louisiana Department of Health reports 13,069 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. That adds to the more than a million Louisianans who tested positive. That number, however, does not reflect the growing number of people taking at-home COVID-19 tests.
Deaths are also climbing with the state reporting 52 people have died. Of those deaths, between Jan. 6 to 12, 57% were not fully vaccinated the LDH reports.
The number of patients in the hospital is reported at 2,304 with 72% of those patients were also not fully vaccinated.
