
A man was killed when he was ejected from his truck after crashing it into a pole and it bursts into flames.
It happened at around 1:39 a.m. in the 2000 block of Tulane Avenue.
An NOPD report says, “The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was driving at a high rate of speed in the riverbound lane of Tulane Avenue, when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole. The victim was ejected from the vehicle and the truck was engulfed in flames.”
The unidentified man was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
No additional details are available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Officer will identify the decedent and determine the official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
