Man wanted for questioning in N. Dorgenois stabbing and carjacking

The New Orleans Police Department searches for a man wanted for questioning in Tuesday morning’s carjacking and fatal stabbing of a woman in the 1500 block of N. Dorgenois Street.

Police say the man seen in this surveillance camera video is a person of interest in the investigation and needs the public’s help in identifying the man.

An NOPD report says, “At about 7:30 a.m., NOPD officers responded to a call of a carjacking involving an aggravated battery by cutting at the location. Officers arrived on the scene and located a female victim who had sustained a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.”

Police say the man is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, detectives feel he has information vital to the investigation and want to question him.

The victim’s vehicle was reported missing from the scene. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored 2016 Honda HRV bearing Louisiana license plate 323ADB.
