Gunfire in Baton Rouge overnight as a shooting near Southern University wounds nine.
The mass shooting took place around two in the morning at the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity house.
Seven of the nine were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to WWL-TV.
Baton Rouge Police have been noticeably tight lipped about the shooting incident.
Baton Rouge Police released a prepared statement on the incident:
"Preliminary information is that this morning around 1:50 we responded to the 600 block of Harding Blvd regarding a reported shooting. 9 individuals sustained apparent gunshot wounds. All appeared to be non-life-threatening at this point in time. This investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be forthcoming as it becomes available."
