The New Orleans Fire Department battled an intense four-alarm fire at a multiplex home Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at the intersection of Baronne Street and First Street in New Orleans. Few details are available and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

“The first NOFD company arrived at 2:35 a.m. to find a blighted unoccupied home heavily involved in flames that had extended to neighboring homes and immediately struck a second alarm at 2:33 a.m., and the third alarm at 2:40 a.m. Firefighters were trying to determine the location of the occupants of a two-story wood-framed double as the fire began to consume that home. The landlord stated that he’d contacted the residents and that no one was home at the time,” says an NOFD spokesperson.
