The New Orleans Police Department demoted a captain, reducing Sabrina Richardson in rank to lieutenant.
According to a police statement, "Sabrina Richardson was removed from her probationary rank of Captain and reinstated to her permanent classified rank of Lieutenant for unsatisfactory performance during the probationary period."
Richardson was captain of the NOPD Third District. New Orleans Police today announced it promoted Lieutenant Wayne DeLarge to captain, in command of the Third District, which covers Lakeview, Mid-City, and Gentilly.
Richardson previously served as head of the Public Integrity Bureau and also headed the NOPD's recruitment division for a time.
According to NOLA.com, Richardson is the subject of a complaint that alleges dozens of violations of payroll related to off-duty details. That complaint is in the hands of the District Attorney's office.
