UPDATE: NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson tells reporters the murder was related to a carjacking. The woman was allegedly carjacked and dragged by her vehicle until her arm was severed. Ferguson says the woman was dragged for "quite some time" before her body was dislodged. Four suspects are being sought.
Update: The suspects fled in the victim’s 2021 grey Nissan Kicks, bearing a Louisiana license plate 759FAR.
Original Story: The NOPD is investigating what they believe to be a homicide that occurred earlier today in Mid City at the intersection of Bienville and North Cortez. Police report receiving a call at 1:35 PM and responding about twenty minutes later. They discovered an adult woman who had been declared deceased at the scene.
