Police say a driver hit a pedestrian in St. Tammany Parish and fled the scene early this morning. The victim died.
"Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 41 south of LA Hwy 36," Trooper Marc Gremillion said in a news release.
It happened around 3:00am.
"The crash ultimately claimed the life of 32-year-old James Gros of Pearl River."
Gremillion says an unknown vehicle on LA Hwy 41 struck Gros in the roadway and left the scene.
"While Troopers work to determine the make, model, and driver of the suspect vehicle, anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Louisiana State Police Troop L at (985) 893-6250.
