As we move into the overnight hours concerns turn toward hard freezing which would wreak havoc on pipes for homes and businesses.
But all is not lost if you have not made any moves to protect your pipes. There are still measures to take.
Danny Griffin, owner of Pipes R Us, says get out there now to avoid a headache later.
"Preparation is key. Wrap your pipes, run your water."
Here's something you may not want to hear, it can get too cold for anything to work.
"If it gets below twenty degrees, there isn't much you can do."
Also remember water running is to be done overnight, most officials suggest that regular water use during the day, like handwashing and bathroom use, keep a steady enough flow of water to deter pipe freezing.
Now, what about other water supplies, like to your water heater? Griffin says do no wrap them!
"That can cause a carbon monoxide build up. Instead, just keep that steady stream of water running."
