New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal quadruple shooting in the 8600 block of Belfast Street. Two of the shooting victims have died.
Police say shortly after 1:30 p.m. today, officers were on patrol in the Hollygrove when they heard gunshots in the area. A witnesses flagged the officers down and led them to the location.
"When they arrived, they discovered two victims suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds. Those victims died at the scene," NOPD said in a statement. "Two additional victims were also discovered. Those individuals were transported to a local hospital by EMS."
Police have not released the names of the victims nor any possible suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
