Rash of robberies in New Orleans Sunday

Cops report a series of armed robberies across the city of New Orleans Sunday and into Monday.

It started around 7:30am, when a man with a gun tried to rob a man in the 200 block of South Broad Street.

"Armed suspect approached victim in parking lot and demanded victim’s money," according to an initial police report. "Victim ran into nearby business. Suspect apprehended in block."

Shortly before 9:00am there was another armed robbery.

"Suspect demanded victim’s money at gunpoint. Victim complied. Suspect fled."

That man was robbed in the 6300 block of Elysian Fields Ave.

A 10:30am a woman was held at gunpoint in the 3300 block of Conti St.

"Two unknown juvenile suspects... approached victim, produced firearm and demanded money. Victim complied. Suspects Fled."

About an hour later another woman was robbed in the 2200 block of North Peters St.

"Victim seated in her vehicle when suspect entered from passenger side, pointed gun at victim's stomach and demanded victim’s property. Victim complied. Suspect exited vehicle and fled."

Just after 5:00pm cops say a woman tried to steal merchandise from a business in the 8200 block of Earhart Blvd.  When she got caught, she turned violent and robbed the store's manager.

"Unknown black female... suspect seen shoplifting from business. Manager approached suspect and took items back. Suspect exited business, returned armed with knife. Suspect swung knife at victim, took back items and fled."

Around 3:00am Monday morning, two women were robbed in the 200 block North Rampart St.

"Armed suspect demanded property and searched victims before fleeing with unknown amount of money."

At 3:30am, three suspects robbed a man in the 100 block of Bourbon St.

"Female suspect grabbed victim’s wallet. When victim tried to retrieve it, male suspects jumped him and took his cellphone. Victim retrieved  cellphone and suspects fled with victim’s wallet."
